About Hurricane Tax Prep

You’ve Got Taxes. We’ve Got Time.

The red rocks. The quiet mornings. The freedom to spend your day on a trail instead of staring at a spreadsheet.

That’s the spirit behind Hurricane Tax Prep — a small, local tax service built for real people who’d rather be doing literally anything else than thinking about the IRS.

Whether you’re a small business owner in La Verkin, a new retiree in Washington, or a mountain biker in St. George with a stack of 1099s, we’re here to make tax time feel a whole lot less overwhelming.

No chain store chaos. No outsourced prep. Just a calm, experienced hand — and a friendly voice when you need one.

What We Do (and Why We Do It Differently)

Hurricane Tax Prep offers individual and small business tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, and year-round consulting services to folks across Southern Utah. But we’re not just in the business of filing returns.

We’re in the business of reassurance — explaining what matters, skipping the jargon, and helping you feel a little more in control of your finances, whether you’re filing for the first time or running a growing business.

Every return is prepared by a human being. And when you have questions, you’ll talk to the same person who knows your name — not a rotating cast of seasonal staffers.

Meet Brian Haley

Founder. Tax Preparer. Neighbor. Dad. Mountain Trail Convert.

After 20+ years running a successful tax business on the East Coast, Brian has been drawn by family, red cliffs, and open skies to split his time between East and West. He’s not here to sell you big promises or bury you in the tax code. He’s here to do good work, meet good people, and build something durable.

Brian brings a steady, unflappable presence to every conversation — the kind of guy clients call in a panic and hang up with feeling calm. His superpower? Making taxes make sense. No shame, no sales pitch — just real explanations for real situations.

He still answers his own phone. He still double-checks every return. And he still believes that being trustworthy matters more than looking slick.

The Bottom Line

Taxes aren’t always simple. But working with someone you trust should be.

At Hurricane Tax Prep, you’ll get straight answers, plain talk, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing someone’s got your back — not just your numbers.

Got a pile of receipts and no idea where to start? Let’s fix that.
